Is this any different from the version you uploaded a few days ago in this RE: It's... post?
The Zip seems to be the same size for both.
No, R C-R. It's the same. I uploaded it again in a separate post because it was completely lost in the 'It's...' post...

I think komatös should do it...

Ha-ha! Looks good. Great use of the Byzantium Gold brushes to get the same effect with a little Inventive, lateral thinking, komatös. . Kudos...
You have untied the 'Gordian Knot'...

How do start using Affinity. I have downloaded it, registered, can open the application, but cannot do anything, clicking does not do anything.
This sounds to me like you are a beginner.
It sounds EXACTLY what I experienced many years ago when I wanted to learn CorelDraw. I purchased it, opened it, but didn't know what to do with it. I saw the white page and all the coloured squares along the bottom and was so excited by it, but I didn't know what to do in a graphics app. I was used to MS Word. I used to open CorelDraw each day and just look at it, at the colours, and wanted so much to learn it.
If this is you... read on.
And I DID learn it. It took a while, but not only did I learn it, but I became so proficient at it that I got a job doing graphic design in the investment banking industry in London and teaching it to others. I taught other members of the 'Design' team how to use CorelDraw, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, how to draw logos, maps and infographics, how to do photobashing, design covers for information memorandums, do layout for brochures, web graphics, animation, how to create PDFs, and a lot of other stuff.
I helped and encouraged them, and we are all here to help and encourage you in your quest to learn Affinity 3.
I taught myself.
And you can too...

What's in The Fontsmith Collection? - Affinity ReviewThe (long awaited) Fontsmith Collection finally released for early Affinity supporters. This livestream will showcase every single font that comes in the col...www.youtube.com -
Thanks, dominik.
Yes, it was quite a lot of work, but a lot of fun...
I made the gold font using one of the gold brushes from my free gold brush collection for Affinity Photo & Affinity 3. When I saw the brush stroke I had painted to test the brush, I thought 'Hmm. That would make a great bitmap colour font...'
So I created one or two characters like ABC abc 123 and liked the look of them. The brush, because of the settings, is a bit erratic, so I had to paint a few brush strokes before I got a section of the brush stroke that I was happy with, but I like a challenge.
I'm going to upload the 'black' version of the font 'Twist of Black' (which is vector) here on the Creofora Affinity forum in a few days.
There's not much point uploading the 'gold' version, because it's a bitmap colour font and Affinity 3 doesn't recognise bitmap colour fonts (or, at least, not MY one
Ha-ha!)... It's a shame because there's a lot you can do with it because it's translucent, so whatever image, colour or gradient you put behind it can be seen through it (see above, which I did in PowerPoint).MS Word and PowerPoint recognise bitmap colour fonts, as do CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (and probably other design apps) and it's SO MUCH FUN creating stuff using them...
This is a screenshow I am creating of the brushes in my free 'Rainbow' brush set for Affinity 3 (and Affinity Photo 2)...
This is a kerning test in MS Word in which I was checking the kerning of the gold version...
This is just a bit of fun using the 'Rainbow' brushes and glyphs from the 'Twist of Gold' font ...

Hi,
For a few months now I've been busy lately designing a bitmap colour font (Twist of Gold) in Affinity Photo 2, Designer 2 and Affinity 3. I used one of the gold brushes that I made in Affinity Photo 2 to create each glyph, exported each of them as .pngs, then brought them into FontLab 8 and set the kerning and tested it. It's been a challenge. I haven't used FontLab since version 5, but it's been a lot of fun. I have put my free 'Rainbow' brushes on hold because I have nowhere to upload them too since Affinity was bought by Canva.
The font is a gold font that, sadly, won't display in Affinity 3 in it's native colour of gold. Also, it's quite translucent, so you can see through it (a bit like a gold négligée, really... Ha-ha!)
I have tried many ways to export it so that Affinity 3 will recognise it, but it hasn't been a success. It shows up gold in Word and PowerPoint in Windows (see below). I've not been able to export it for Mac successfully either.
I was going to upload it for free for the Affinity 3 community here on the Creofora forum, but there's no point if it doesn't display in gold...
It looks like this...
This is in PowerPoint...
Anyway...
So I created a Black version, which I think looks pretty cool. It's vector, although the original artwork is bitmap, but FontLab converts a version of it to vector (and does it very well, I might add).
It works in Affinity 3 for Windows. It doesn't display correctly on a Mac, unfortunately. I've still gotta find out why...
I really like the twisting of the lines and the kinda distressed look that the vector version (Twist of Black) has. I think it looks a bit organic, like the branches of a tree. I have broken the font apart in Affinity 3, recoloured some of the glyphs to see what it looks like. I'll probably upload it in a few days. Hopefully, I can export it for Mac users too.
I just wish I could get the gold version to display in Affinity 3 and get both versions to export correctly for Mac...
We'll see...

It's been a learning curve, but I'm happy to ditch Adobe subs
We're with you, mooksii. Most of us have been dumped by Adobe when they introduced their 'Software Rent' (which they call their 'subscription method') to concentrate on the large (RICH) corporations.
And we're all here to help if you need anything...

maybe folks can get used to monochrome traffic lights as well. why bother with red, yellow, and green.
Oh, I love this! 😄😄😄
This is my favourite quote of the day...

Bring back, bring back,
Oh, bring back my Colour Icons to Affinity.
Bring back, bring back,
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to meLove your little ditty, bici.
Maybe... if you asked nicely (or better, sang
), you could request that in a future Affinity 3 update, Canva might provide both a monochrome AND a coloured icon version, so Affinity 3 users could CHOOSE...But you will have to sing sweetly, mesmerise the Canva gods with your melodious voice and honey'd words...

I see 46 videos when I visit the playlist page.
Thank you, Alfred. It's just a link to the playlist I created of Affinity 3 tutorials which I gathered in one place. I hope they are helpful to you.

None of them are mine.
I just saved any new Affinity 3 tutes in this location so that they are in one place, rather than scattered across YouTube.
think 'How To Mark' is one of the YouTube guys who creates Affinity 3 tutes.

Any particular tutorials you consider "must sees"?
