I tried it a few years ago, before buying a Wacom Cintiq 16, and it was pretty much an unusable setup. The lag was the biggest issue
But if it works well now, that would be interesting.
Are you using Sidecar wirelessly? (I think that's the only way it works, but I don't know...)
I'm late to this party, but what I'd do is use the Clone Brush on a new pixel layer to fill in the line. Bear in mind that I don't use vectors ever (and I am an artist).
So you create a new pixel layer, choose the Clone Brush (K), in this case you want the brush hardness to be 100%, and the default Current Layer and Below is what you'd want here (and in most cases).
Ah, that's another answer... except that I'm not sure it's right, or that I understand what you mean by "icon."
I grouped a couple of mastering adjustments in another file the same way, and they definitely affect everything below them whether they're in the group or released. There's nothing in the group except a mask for one of the adjustments.
Also, the folder icon looks exactly the same as above, even though it's not empty.

That's the thing - clicking on the arrow to disclose the group shows those two layers in it. I don't know why it thinks the group is empty.
But here's the answer:
When you group adjustments layers, the rendering engine of Affinity apps impacts the alpha channel differently to non-group layers. It’s an old bug since V1.

Have you tried setting the Blend mode for the group to Normal?
I hadn't, but I did and the result is the same. Good thought, though,

The group layer is absolutely not empty. It contains those two adjustments!
I post my work all the time, but I include an embedded signature and my website info. People could steal this too if they wanted to, but the green things are just a discouragement.
The white patch is just because I didn't take the exact same screenshots, placed them side-by-side, then took a screenshot of that. Please ignore it.

This is a fragment of a picture I'm working on. There are currently two mastering adjustments - a vibrance one and a brightness/contrast one.
The screenshot on the left shows them out in the open on the layer stack, the one on the right is what happens when I group them (look at the dark blotches). I did nothing other than select the two adjacent layers and hit Command-G - they just go into a folder in the same order and the Passthrough blend mode is automatic. No selection is active.

Affinity Photo v.2 hangs on quit sometimes, and I'm able to make it bog down when I open too many pictures inside others, but in all honestly I can't say I've had stability issues.
Scripting might be useful, though.

Being able to paint adjustments does look useful, although it's not really different from using a mask layer (or masking an adjustment by painting directly on it, which creates a mask layer that you can edit).
I'm sure that at some point there will be a feature that gives me a reason to update, but in the meantime I don't really want to.
Never mind anything else, it'll just be extra work figuring out the new software and setting it up the way I want. I have the other two programs, but the only one I use is Photo - although not in a way normal people use it.
I'm not using V.3 and don't want to if I can avoid it.
Seriously, though, I may be stupid but I'm not as stupid as you seem to think I am. 
It might be fixed in the Canva version, and I want to know whether it's just me.

Layer states no longer work. They're there, but clicking on the triangle does nothing.
Hope they can make a living in the future but at least they will have a certain level of education.
The most important skill today seems to be an ability to adapt. How many people will be doing the same thing 15 years from now?
For what it's worth:
I went to Berklee College of Music, and most of the students did our best to sound just like our heroes - whether it was composing or playing. These were advanced musicians preparing for careers in music (back when there was a music industry to go to).
Several years later I took some art classes at UCLA Extension, and even though there were beginners and more advanced people, you could tell right away who drew/painted what.
Why?
You could say the same thing about using readymade fonts vs. creating your own from scratch.

Yes, is kind of philosophical discussion. To use a computer or write a book with your own hand.
Must be said, to make things from scratch often is more satisfactory. But not always gains you money.
I'm not advocating that anyone reinvent the wheel, but if I wanted a unique look for a title (which is the most likely use for a multi-colored font) then I'd do it this way.
Note that - if I remember right - a lot of discussion in this thread is because people were faffing with computers trying to get fonts to appear!
As to philosophy and making money, AI can already imitate what people have already done. The only way to stand out will be to come up with something no f-ing machine can do.
Yes, you can do it that way. The advantage of colour fonts, however, is that you can quickly change the text colour or other aspects of the typeface using the various ligatures included in the font.
The disadvantage is that it's less creative. To each his own, but I'm not interested in repeating what 50 billion other people can already do.
What do you mean by “bring in the colors [yourself]”? Are you talking about converting to curves and then colouring the individual elements, or do you have a method of applying new colours without losing the ability to keep the text editable?
Well, you can change the colors and textures of anything by bringing in a layer of anything else.
Here's a quick example of one way to do it. It's converted to a pixel layer here, but you can edit the text and do it over - which shouldn't be a bid deal, because you're unlikely to use a colored font for extended prose.
Are you kidding? Font design requires mastering skills that would take most of us months of study just to learn how to make one font, & then debug it, making sure its hinting & other features work as expected across a wide range of uses.
I'm half kidding, but if I were going to do that I'd use a font and bring in the colors myself.
Real men and women would create their own color fonts.
