I tried the artboard tool. That's not going to work for me. I totally agree with R C-R that this restriction seems arbitrary. I will manage with the pages and the stupid numbering. Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm creating different maps in one file. I have a page for each map. I would like to name the pages rather than the default page numbering Affinity uses. Can I rename them?

That works, but to get the align first or align last option set you first have to do the alignment, then the options appear!!! That is definitely a bug, and this type of alignment needs to be improved. Vectorworks does it simple. The last object selected is the alignment candidate.

I'm trying to left align one object (X) to another object (Y). I select the two objects and do the alignment, but Y keeps aligning to X, and I want X to align to Y. I tried locking Y, but Y still moves. So how do I choose which object aligns to which?

It says "Remove unwanted outer areas of your image." My document is a layout with many IMAGES. I have this fixed now, but when I pressed the C key the Crop Tool wanted to crop my entire page. If I click on the Crop Tool, then I could crop an image, just as the tool tip say. Press C, it does not work. Click the tool, it does work. That's a problem. And yes the keyboard shortcut was set to C.

I added the Vector Crop Tool to my Pixel Studio, and I removed the C shortcut from the Crop Tool. My problem was I could not make the C shortcut work ber=froe, and the tool tip for the Crop Tool is confusing.

I don't have the Vector Cropping tool in my Pixel Studio. Also, the tool tip for the Crop Tool says what it says. I'm thinking this is a bug.

I've checked the keyboard shortcuts and it looks like it is set correctly.

But if I select an image in my layout Pixel Studio and I press the C key I get a grid, even thought the top tip says it's for image cropping.

But if I select the image and then click the Crop Tool, THEN I can crop my image.

Can I fix this with some setting?

I figured out that the blue line was indicating that the text block had a clipping mask. Something that got added by accident. I found another blue line on a different text block, and for that one I looked at the layer panel, and that's where I saw the clipping mask, which I then removed. Thanks Old Bruce for making the check the layers panel suggestion.

Understood, but hard to do when I have no clue what the line is.

I deleted all of the lower text blocks and reflowed the text. That blue line is gone now. I wish this fix was simpler. I did not get to look at the Layers panel before I did the reflow, but I will do that if I see this again in the future.

What is this blue line under this text block? None of the other text blocks in this flowed text have that. I need to get rid of it, but anything I do only moves it further down with more blank space.

It's really simple, if you don't want the canvas crop tool, don't add it to your tools, ignore it and just use the vector crop tool.. There is no reason to remove a tool, that many people find very useful, and use regularly, just because some people don't understand the need for it!

I'm not sure why pressing C would have the effect you describe, though, unless you're pressing and holding, vs pressing and releasing quickly. Pressing and holding would switch you temporarily to the raster Crop Tool (just as pressing and holding any other Tool shortcut key) and then revert to the previous tool when you release the pressed key.

I probably set the shortcut to C for my Vector Crop Tool. I removed the C shortcut for the Crop tool and the Corner tool, but that momentary action of pressing C still happens. I do believe it is an incompatibility with my Logitech MX Master Mac mouse.

There appears to be a bug with pressing the "C" key to crop an image in the layout. I press C and the crop marks appear for a moment then revert to the last tool selected. If I use my Logitech mouse to select the Vector Crop Tool, then it works. If I use my Apple Trackpad after pressing C then it works. If I hold down the C key, then it works with my Logitech mouse. There's some interference with these devices. This was working fine up until a week or so ago.

I have linked text frames. Those suggestions don't seem to make a difference with them.

I asked Ritson and got this correct answer: "To resize a frame text box by line height increments, double-click the frame's top or bottom edge handle to remove empty space and fit the frame to its content. The frame will adjust to match the text's line height automatically." That works but it is slow. Is there a faster way, or better yet, a setting to snap to the line?
