  • FWIW, while it was always possible to use the Pen Tool to make selections or masks in Affinity Photo 2 via the Pen Tool's context toolbar's buttons, annoyingly that was not possible in Affinity Designer 2 because its Pen Tool lacked those context toolbar buttons.

    What is really nice about V3 is the Pencil tool, which is not available in Photo 2, can also be used to draw or modify the vector outline so you can use that tool's sculpt mode, curve fitting smoothness, and/or Stabilizer settings as well as the Pen Tool for this.
