I would like to add a vignette, but when I do this, I am getting a horizontal vignette, yet I want a vertical one.
What can I do?

so the vignette's position is horizontal, yet I want it to be vertical. Thanks.

Resize the Canvas so it is vertically shaped. Or square shaped. Then you can use the Vignette filter.
Then just clip to canvas to get rid of the transparent pixels and be back to the horizontal shape.
