Before starting to work through the new Affinity, can I use the assets (brushes etc.) bought for v2 use in the new Affinity. Forum search didnt give me an answer.

Yes.
Importing add-ons - Affinity Help CenterImport custom content from add-on files you have created or received from a third party.www.affinity.studio -
I haven't loaded any of the brushes I bought previously, but I have imported some of my old custom brushes that I made in v2 and they work fine (so far) in v3.

Thanks Ali!
I assume there is no "migration" tutorial for AFv2 users.
-
yes you can

They import just fine....go forward not backwards with the apps. V1 and V2 brushes should import fine...I added some of my vast collection...without any problems
You can get the ones from previous apps or from Managed Stored Content on the Home Window ScreenV3 does not go to V2 though

There might be - I have not searched for one yet, but I am one who prefers to find their own way. I like exploring new UIs and looking for the things I need, so I'm not the right person to ask, really. No doubt more stuff like this will become available in time.
Discord is horrid, but there are channels there being set up for tutorials and resources, so maybe go and have a look there. Just steer clear of the general chat sections!!!

In the opening Welcome dialog, under Welcome (NAME) > Advanced > Link Affinity ID... you can link your old Affinity ID account and then view and download previously purchased add-ons from the Affinity Store under the same Advanced menu.

Try the option...
File > Import > Content > From Affinity 2...
Hopefully, it will do as you want

If you still have the version 2 programmes installed and have imported brushes and other items, you can copy the existing .propcol files.

I am happy to report that File / Import Content / From Affinity 2... works like a charm to import assets, brushes, styles, macros, et al. They came across into v3 just fine. Thank goodness someone (possibly an end-user?) in programming was thinking.
Of course, I still have v2 installed.

I did the Import Contect/ From Affinity 2 and it worked, but it did not bring all the assets, brushes, etc, it only brought some of them. Any idea why it did not move all of them?
-
Connect your affinity with your old affinity we site ID and you can access everything you bought before.
-
I did connect the account and that was fine. These are assets and brushes etc, that were not bought from Affinity. Free resources from different places. The odd thing is, it brought some of them, but not all that I had installed.
-
Hootowl If you still have access to the V2 programs, you also have the option of exporting additional content from the V2 programs that has not been transferred.

Others on Discord have mentioned this issue
If you raise a support ticket with Affinity they may able to determine why some of yours did not import by analysing the failed onesPlease report back if they give you an answer
